Is there any memorable pet that you especially miss when the holidays roll around?
A departure from the rants, irresponsible breeders, and children . . . . : )
I lost my lovely kitty, Tre, on December 2nd, 2006, and I still miss him to this day. He was a wonderful cat, much more of a dog personality than the typical cat temperament. I loved going on walks in the snowy woods with him, after a while he would stop and then I’d carry him and hold his feet to warm up his toes : ) He was a great companion.
And of course I miss my boy Satchmo; I’m sure he’s much happier with his new family, but I had marked every week of his life on my calendar and I had wanted to take him with us to the Christmas tree farm, he would have loved that.
So what memorable pets do you remember around holidays and wish you still had?
I cannot possibly choose; I’ll leave this up to vote.
Thank you for sharing, everyone! : )
Yes there is! I had a Chihuahua named Gigi! This is Gigi!
Rest In Peace, In The Arms Of The Angels, My Sweet Love Gigi!
Gigi passed away on August 10, 2008 from Liver Disease! She got the Liver Disease, from a drug that a vet she was seeing at the time gave her, for a broken leg, that she was being treated for. The drug was Rimadyl! Gigi was never sick a day in her life before this nightmare happened. We would have never given Gigi the Rimadyl in the first place, if the vet would have told us the truth, about how Rimadyl causes Liver Disease in dogs and is killing dogs! I didn’t find out about this, until after Gigi was already gone! We would have found a safer and less risky drug for Gigi! When I asked the vet if it was safe for Gigi to be taking the Rimadyl, she flat out told me that it would be safe, not to worry at all and that Gigi would not be on the Rimadyl long enough for it to do her any harm. The vet was wrong and Gigi died, because the vet failed to be honest, knowing what the risks were! If the vet would have been honest, then Gigi would have never been given the Rimadyl, she would have never contracted Liver Disease from it and she still would have been here, right by my side where she belongs! You can’t imagine how guilty I feel, for being the one who had to give Gigi the Rimadyl, trusting my vets advice and having this happen! I’m crushed and I’m Heartbroken! After Gigi died, I asked this vet again, if she knew the risks of Rimadyl and she told me she did, but because Gigi was only on it for 2 months, she did not think it would cause her any harm and that’s why she did not say anything about the risks! I will never take any of my dogs to this vet again! I have a vet that I know I can trust with my Chi’s now! He also owns Chihuahuas, so he knows the breed very well! The Necropsy I had done on Gigi proves the Rimadyl given to Gigi, was the cause of her Liver Disease and Death! Gigi was born on January 1, 2006! Gigi was very friendly, funny, loved to entertain everyone, loving, well behaved, loved other animals and people, affectionate and sweet little girl. She never showed any kind of aggression to anyone! She did not deserve this!!! We are in the process of filing charges against the vet, so that she cannot do this to anyone else’s dog. We miss Gigi very much and to this day are still having a very hard time adjusting to her not being with us anymore. I’m not ashamed to say, that I can’t get Gigi out of my mind and cry for her on a daily basis! She meant the world to us! Because Gigi was born on New Years Day 2006, it’s going to be a very, very sad day for us!
Rest In Peace, My Beautiful Little Love Gigi! I love you and miss you, with all of my heart and soul! I’m so sorry, that this happened to you! You will be embedded in our hearts forever! Thank You Gigi, for being such an awesome friend! This should never have happened to you and I still can’t believe that it did!!
Merry Christmas to everyone!
