2. Wireless – This surveillance camera transmits wirelessly to whatever monitor you have set up. They are typically small and come with a number of features. However, electromagnetic signals can interfere with its operation.
3. Dome – This kind has a flat base that fits either up against the ceiling. You will have a 360 degree view of the room and it can tilt 180 degrees for a complete view. You have the option to manually control the view or set it on automatic for slow rotating view. The ceiling is the typical mount location so you are limited. However, with a special kit, you can mount it on a wall or pointed up on a table.
4. IP – This surveillance camera is assigned an IP address so that you can view live feeds from it on the Internet. You can assign a password for security reasons and even hook it up to your Wi-Fi. The downside to this is that it is dependent on Internet capabilities to use the remote viewing feature. If the Net is down or something interferes with the wireless single, you are blind to what is going on.
5. IR – This is infrared and allows you to see in the dark. Indoor, outdoor and in all the styles above, you can have total vision whether it is night or day. The problem with this is that they are clearly visible at night because of the IR light.
