when can you tell if you are ovulating?

I am so confused! I went and bought a basal thermometer, and have been tracking my temp. since i ended my period on 5/23… my temps were 5/24- 96.05, 5/25- 96.08,5/26- 96.04, 5/27- 96.75, 5/28- 96.29, and today was 5/29- 96.19… but looking at my ovulation calendar I have.. It says I shouldn’t start ovulating until today the 29th. I see on the 27th it was clear up to 96.75, does that mean I could have ovulated that day instead? i thought you started ovulating 10 days after your period? any help would be great- i really dont understand this, maybe someone knows a little more about it… I would really appreciate it… Thanks!!

You actually can ovulate anywhere from 10-18 days past ovulation depending on your cycle length. My cycle length is 31 so I ovulate 14 days after. Looking at these temps, it doesn’t look like you ovulated yet. There wasn’t a drop in your temp. For example I went onto a website that had an example of someone’s chart. day 1 was 97.5, then 97.2, then 97.5, then 96.0, when they had the drop at 96.0 they ovulated. It’s a little hard to understand that’s why I check my cervical mucous. You can’t go wrong with that.
